High Tech Car Features Coming to a Dealership Near You

James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5. KITT from Knight Rider. The Batmobile. Speed Racer’s Mach 5. These are the awesome fictional cars from our childhood we all grew up wishing we could own. But, alas, one day we had to grow up, face reality, and settle with the limited technology of the present.

Well, the future is here, and now your wildest automobile dreams can come true. Carmakers have come out with or are in the process of developing fantastic car features we previously thought was only the stuff of movies.

Here are the most notable. As soon as you can, go to your nearest dealer and demand an upgrade.

Night Vision Driving

Imagine you’re on the road in the middle of the night, surrounded by a dense cloud of fog. The risk is high collision with an animal, large object, or even a person.

The good news is you no longer have to rely on your high beams alone. High-tech infrared and radar night vision systems like those available through BMW, Mercedes, and Audi give you a clear image of the road ahead of you right on a built-in screen on your dashboard. It alerts you when you approach a potentially dangerous object.

Omnivision

Being able to see behind you with rearview mirrors is great, but why be content with a mere 180 degrees of vision when you can get the full 360? Ford and other big name manufacturers have developed cameras that let you see all around your car on your dashboard monitor.

Traffic Navigation Systems

The GPS is one of the best car technologies ever conceived. It’s great for finding your way to a place you’ve never been. Unfortunately, a regular old GPS doesn’t know when traffic is heavy on a certain route. Acura and other industry leaders are offering GPS systems synced with real-time traffic data. You’re led along on the fastest, most convenient path.

Self-Cleaning Windows

The latest models from brands like Kia feature windows made of a special coated glass that deflects water and debris so that your vision remains unobstructed while driving. You won’t even need windshield wipers!

Voice-Detection Software

This is one that’ll truly be loved by fans of Knight Rider. The cars may not have AI that you can hold a meaningful conversation with, but software like Uconnect can read commands asking for directions and information or to make make a call similar to Chicago limo rental companies.

Chicago Cars That Parallel Park for You

Don’t you hate parallel parking? The constant looking back, turning, and coming within fractions of an inch of scraping the bumper of the car behind you. Wouldn’t it be great to have some help performing these stressful maneuvers (at least more precise and less obvious help than your buddy giving you directions)?

Now there is. Parallel parking assistants use ultrasonic waves and sensors built into the bumper notify you when you get dangerously close to the car in front or behind you.

Cars That Massage You While You Drive

After a long day at work, a long drive home is the last thing you want. Thankfully, manufacturers like Mercedes Benz have massage nodes built into the seats to soothe and relax you.

With these high-tech car features, driving is now safer and pleasurable than ever before.
